We Are Missoula Federal Credit Union
We are a locally owned, not-for-profit, financial cooperative – Montana’s largest Community Development Financial Institution and its second largest credit union.
For over 50 years we have been a financial partner that is engaged in educating and enriching the lives of those we serve. We are financial experts, customer service pros, a civic-minded volunteer board and a membership that spans the region.
We don’t simply process your transactions and send you a statement. We give you a voice in the life of the organization. After all, we’re in it together.
Our History and Field of Membership
Missoula Federal Credit Union began in 1956 as a small financial cooperative organized by and serving local policemen. Over the years, we’ve grown organically and merged with a couple of great local credit unions – the University of Montana Credit Union and Northern Pacific Credit Union – to become Montana’s second largest credit union and its largest Community Development Financial Institution.
We now serve people who live, work, worship, attend school in Lake, Missoula and Ravalli Counties. We also serve people who participate in associations headquartered in, and people who participate in programs to alleviate poverty or distress which are located in Lake, Missoula and Ravalli Counties. And we serve incorporated or unincorporated organizations located in, or maintaining a facility in Lake, Missoula and Ravalli Counties.
What makes the credit union unique? We are a locally owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative powered by our volunteer Board of Directors and members like you. Every member owns a share of the credit union and has an equal say in the direction of our organization. The financial success of the credit union is passed along to members through enhanced products and services, higher dividends and competitive loan rates. When we profit, you profit.
